On December 13th I had the pleasure of adding another exercise modality into my arsenal of training programs. I went through the TRX® Suspension Training® Course which is designed to educate participants on the benefits of TRX® training and how we can use this method to improve sports performance for our clients or to assist them with improving their overall fitness level. After completing the course I could not wait to take one of my Clients through a workout using the TRX® straps.
I picked one of my best conditioned Clients to go through the sample Suspension Training program found in the course manual. After teaching him about the anatomy of the straps and how to make the proper adjustments when an exercise called for a change in length, I demonstrated each exercise and explained to him the proper mechanics of each movement.
Let the Training begin:
The circuit only lasted nine minutes and needless to say he was kneeling in a pool of sweat and earned the nick name Sucking Wind. In the end we both agreed that this type of training is needed in order to continue making progress with his training program.
I believe that the TRX® Suspension Trainer is a must have for all Personal Trainers because it provides you with so many ways to challenge your Clients within a short period of time.
Within the upcoming months I will begin posting some interesting video shorts of the various exercises that you can perform with this versatile tool.
